In 2007 the new book "Build your own sports car on a budget" was published. This book is the replacement of Ron Champion's succesful book "Build your own sports car for £ 250.-". The new book from Haynes Publishing takes you step by step through the build process of your own Super Seven. The book explains about constructing the chassis, about the aluminium works and about building the lightweight glassfibre body. It also helps you with getting it registered, explains you what you need to know about the electrics and how to do the final setup.

The choice of engine is limitless. You could stay with the stock Ford Sierra engine, but many other options fit the chassis. Such as the lightweight Ford Duratec, the relaible Ford Zetec and thee Toyota 4A-GE. But also engines such as the Rover V8, Honda F20C (from the S2000) and our personal favorite the VAG 1.8 Turbo. Bike engines are also optional.
The rest of the running gear is all Ford Sierra. Any Sierra will do, including the Cosworth's. Some parts are obtained from other cars, like the radiator and the steering rack.
If you build the Roadster by the book, it is possible to do this for € 7000,-. For those who would like to work with finished parts, Alphax is able to supply you all your Roadster parts. These parts will be available through our webshop www.KitcarOnderdelen.nl or directly at us through email.
We are currently building our demonstrator car. This car will be fitted with a 180-200 bhp Audi 1.8i 20v Turbo engine, a Ford MT-75 gearbox and a Megasquirt stand alone ECU. We will keep you updated on our progress.
