The Alphax Firefly and the Roadster need to undergo a specific test before being able to register it. In England they have set up a single vehicale approval test (SVA) which will give that particular car a one time type approval. During this test they check the safety of the driver, passenger and pedestrian, the general construction of the car, emission test and many more. When the car has passed this thorough test it can be registered in the UK. Because the car will have been registered in the UK, European Union law states that the other EU countries must accept this as a legal registration. However, each country is free to set additional rules, such as emision and general MOT points.
This might all sound very complicated, time consuming and difficult. Alphax has set up this whole route together with a college in the UK and we can now offer the SVA test for you in a complete package. Before the actual SVA test is, we will run a pre-test on your car to check on any points of failure. This enables you to correct these points ahead of time. When the car is finished we transport it to our college in the UK where it will be stored in their workshop. This transport will happen a few days before the actual test. Than the car will be SVA tested and regsitered in the UK, including road tax and a MOT check-up if required. When the whole registration is completed we will collect the car again. After this you can change the car slightly to meet your local legislation. It is advised to check beforehand which steps are required to have your kitcar registered.
Whether it is your Firefly or any other kitcar that needs a SVA test, Alphax can take care of it all. For more information email or phone us.
